Hasenhuttl Surprisingly Wipes The Slate Clean For Southampton Duo

|

When Southampton confirmed the travelling squad for our pre-season training camp in Austria, plenty of fans raised their eyebrows when Wesley Hoedt and Cedric Soares were listed as travelling as many thoughts they would be left behind at Staplewood to train which it assumed their time at the club was now at an end.

With players making the trip though, the Daily Echo have claimed that manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has wiped the proverbial slate clean and wants to take another look at both of them as he continues to assess his plans for the coming 2019/20 Premier League campaign.

Hoedt didn’t have a great time out on loan with Celta Vigo, with the 25-year-old making only ten appearances for the club having been red carded in his opening match. 27-year-old Cedric’s spell at Inter Milan was worse with only four appearances made.

If Ralph can get them back to their best and get more out of them I think most fans will be happy enough with this as we seem to have our work cut out for us in offloading Jordy Clasie and Guido Carrillo for decent fees. Down to them if they take their chance.
